Northwest Austin Veterinary Center is excited to announce our Dental Months for 2012.  During February and April, NWAVC is offering a 20% discount on professional dental cleanings for your dog or cat. The 20% discount is applied to the cost of the dental cleaning including anesthesia, but does not include optional IV fluids, bloodwork, any necessary extractions, or pain medications.

Why does your pet need Dental Care?  The bacteria that is present in a pet’s mouth due to dental disease can cause tooth pain or change his/her eating habits.  More serious effects can occur if the bacteria enters the bloodstream, where it can negatively affect the heart, liver, and kidneys.  This is the most important reason dentals are recommended by veterinarians.  The severe stages of periodontal disease can cause serious health issues, so NWAVC’s veterinarians recommend taking care of the problem as soon as possible.
